We are a small family owned business located in the heart of Santa Rosa. Our Fear Free practice embraces the best of eastern and western veterinary medicine. We offer general surgery, wellness and illness exams and treatments, in-house and reference laboratory testing, prescription medications, and radiology services, including x-rays and ultrasound exams.
We are the only FearFree Certified Integrative Practice in Sonoma County. All team members are FearFree Certified. Eligible job candidates must be FearFree Certified or able to become FearFree Certified within sixty (60) days of hire.

Wise & Wonderful Integrative Veterinary Center is a small, family-owned veterinary practice that has served Santa Rosa since 1968. We are a fear-free certified practice embracing the best of Eastern and Western medicine to provide stress-free and personalized care. We value a work-life balance – we are closed on weekends and Friday afternoons. We provide a team-based approach to veterinary healthcare and enjoy weekly team meetings, team-building activities, and optional monthly social outings.
Our team is currently looking for a registered veterinary technician (RVT) to provide compassionate patient and client care. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Participates with the team with a positive attitude;
• Performs technical skills including, but not limited to, phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, diagnostic imaging, and blood pressure measurement;
• Helps facilitate, calculate, and explain doses and commonly used medications to clients;
• Assists veterinarians and facilitates appointments;
• Establishes and maintains effective client relationships;
• Reviews scheduled appointment information and patient history prior to appointment;
• Obtains accurate patient history from clients and records information in digital medical records;
• Performs safe and effective restraint appropriate for patient temperament and breed to allow examination and medical procedures;
• Assist veterinarians in sedated procedures;
• Aide in the training and mentoring of assistants and other team members (RVT);
• Provide technical and nursing care to patients while using critical thinking skills;
• Provide compassion and excellent client care to the owners of our patients;
• Perform hospital sanitation and maintain treatment stock as needed;
• Participate in continuing education and actively work to increase skill set;
• Generate solutions for problems or challenges in the clinic;
• Performs procedures including nail trims, ear cleanings, medication administration, etc.;
• Collects, labels, and delivers diagnostic samples to in-house laboratory;
• Accurately records and invoices procedures/diagnostics and dispensed medications;
• Explains medical conditions, treatment options, and recommended care;
• Assists veterinarians with administrative tasks and client follow-up;
• Maintains a clean hospital environment to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and clients;
• Is courteous to all staff members and clients; and
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
• At least two (2) years of proven experience helping customers;
• Minimum of one (1) year of veterinary experience preferred;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Attention to detail and accuracy;
• A compassionate, attentive, and respectful attitude;
• A collaborative spirit, willingness to support the team, flexibility, and dependability;
• A strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
• An ability to manage stress and emotions;
• An ability to manage time and priorities with minimal direct supervision;
• Administer medications orally and through IV with and without IVC, jugular venipuncture, cystocentesis, and intubation of both dogs and cats (RVT);
• Must be able to manage patients in a kennel on your own, provide updates, conduct rounds, and complete discharges;
• Animal handling skills and at least a basic understanding of animal behavior and low-stress handling techniques;
• Ability to remain calm and multi-task in a stressful environment;
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing with a variety of individuals;
• Familiarity with commonly used medications and basic medical math;
• Ability to work positively as a team player;
• Ability to learn, apply new skills and follow through with directions/tasks;
• Ability to effectively problem solve and make decisions as needed;
• Ability to learn and use computers, technical machinery, and laboratory equipment;
• Ability to lift 40 lbs; and
• Ability to stand for 8 hours.
• Knowledge and experience in TCVM are a plus.
• RVT certification a plus.
